Find Your Light, One Step at a Time
Starting counselling can feel challenging. At Solace Path Counselling, I offer a safe, confidential space where you can speak openly and explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Together, we focus on what matters most to you. Sessions provide a supportive environment where you can reflect and process your experiences safely.
People come to counselling for many different reasons, including anxiety, low mood, stress, grief, life transitions, or more complex experiences such as mental health difficulties, housing issues, or encounters with the criminal justice system.
Through counselling, you may gain clarity, greater self-awareness, and a deeper understanding of yourself. My aim is to support you in finding your own answers, trusting yourself, and exploring what feels right for you. Counselling isn’t about giving solutions; it’s about supporting you as you work through your experiences at your own pace.
I offer space for clients to gain insight into their emotions and experiences. Sessions offer a calm and supportive environment to explore challenges such as:
My approach is person-centred, empathetic, and non-judgmental, with the aim of helping you feel heard and understood.
Counselling isn’t about giving advice or solutions. I offer support as you explore ways to approach challenges, understand what feels helpful for you, and reflect on your experiences. The focus is on supporting you to discover your own answers and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
Hello, I’m Melany, a registered BACP counsellor with experience supporting people through a range of emotional and personal challenges. I have a background in health and social care management and have worked with individuals facing mental health difficulties, disabilities, housing challenges, and experiences within the criminal justice system.
I’ve always been drawn to helping roles—listening deeply, walking alongside people, and supporting them as they explore their thoughts and feelings. My approach is compassionate, person-centred, and non-judgmental, providing a safe space where you can reflect, explore, and make sense of your experiences at your own pace.
I work using a person-centred approach, which means you lead the pace and focus of each session. My role is to listen, reflect, and support you as you explore your thoughts and feelings.
I believe everyone has the capacity to understand themselves and make choices that feel right for them. I’m here to support you in building self-awareness, confidence, and resilience, so together we can explore steps toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.

I offer support to adults exploring a variety of emotional and personal experiences, including:
Stress and anxiety
Low mood or depression
Relationship or family issues
Grief and bereavement
Life changes or transitions
Low self-esteem or confidence
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure
Even if your situation isn’t listed, all experiences are valid and welcome here.
I am based in South London, but I offer online sessions nationwide, so you can attend from wherever feels safe and convenient for you. Sessions are designed to be flexible and accessible, allowing you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Please contact me if you have any accessibility needs or special requirements.
I am based in South East London and provide online counselling sessions nationwide. Sessions are designed to be flexible to fit your needs. Weekly sessions can help you explore your thoughts and feelings consistently, but alternative arrangements can be discussed to suit what works best for you.
I offer 50-minute counselling sessions, usually on a weekly basis. Your first session is an initial assessment (also 50 minutes), giving us time to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you are hoping for, and whether working together feels right for you.
Before booking, you’re welcome to a brief, free chat (10–15 minutes) to ask questions or discuss practical arrangements — so you can feel comfortable and informed.
You are under no obligation to continue after the first session — it’s a space for you to decide if counselling feels right.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about counselling or how it might support you, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to explore the reasons you are considering counselling, whether it might be helpful for you, and whether I am the right therapist to support your needs.
You can also call me if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to talk through any queries or questions you may have, so you feel comfortable and informed before arranging an initial appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
In the first session, we’ll get to know each other and explore why you’re thinking about counselling. You’ll have space to share what feels important to you, and we can discuss whether my approach is right for you. There is no expectation to continue beyond this session — it’s a space for you to decide if counselling feels right.
No — you only share what feels comfortable. Counselling is a safe space for you to explore at your own pace.
